Hermit lights the way

By BetaWolfinVA

Standing beside the roadside,
the hermit lights the way

garbed in a cowel,
holding a crooked pole
and lantern

telling you where there is
pain to be avoided
or happiness to be found

look into your self to find
the realm of your dreams
let the lantern shine on them.

  • A former member wrote: I liked the mystical pagan connotations of this, the hermit is an archetype among mysticism, especially in the British Isles if I'm not mistaken. Last stanza is my favorite, but overall great poetry.
