Missera UnderFoot's Return

By BetaWolfinVA

Scattered toys,
upended basket
(the better to lay on top of
since my people threw my bed away)
.
Peewee playing late night
with an imaginary friend
Running around at three
.
Scratches at a bedroom door
Barks half heard
All of underfoot's homes
are being blessed

I had a dog I so loved and then one day a neighbor let him out during a snowstorm I never saw him again. I haven't had a dog since. There will never be one to replace him. Lovely verse you have penned!
