Her First Next Door Universe
By purr_verse
In times long ago -
thirty years or so past -
(she tries not to think
of such timescapes these days)
a little girl wanted
oh! everything feline,
so she founded a land
where the catpeople played.
Well, somewhere in Russia
seemed purrfectly fair
The place looked ginormous
and surely as such
That the birthing of kingdoms
full of kittens and wonders
was very quite possibly
not asking too much.
For people seemed often
so dull and demanding
So bossy and noisy
with purposes blurry;
but cats - ah, now, They
were something Quite Magic
So the little girl made
all her subjects more furry.
Her queen was a lady
blondehaired and longwhiskered
with velveteen eyelash
and white fluffy tail;
Shegato by name -
She didn't know meaning,
yet Italian for 'cat'
'gato' means all the same.
And a queen needs a king,
so in sable and greeneyes,
the furlord called Takary
(she didn't know why)
walked along with two brothers,
named Tomas and Tamor,
and with valour resplendent
clawguarded her side.
But her favourite kitties
who danced in the shadows
were the streetwise and earcut
Without pedigree;
Alley Francis their leader,
torn tortie and terror,
with wicked smile wanton
and always wildfree.
And the grey Tabbi-El
with her attitude hissing
(just like the realCats
the girl had at home)
sang her songs on the rooftops -
howlmusic by moonlight -
Of her general greatness
and to leave her Alone.
Still sometimes the streetsnarl
gave way to the manor,
where the beautiful Lily
in softpaws and blue
Held court superregal
Soft purred by the fireplace
And there was no catfeat
that she couldn't do.
And the forested landscape
stood mountainous, cat-charged -
The horizon was purple
with never an end,
Moss-kissed but quite perilous
so she needed a hero -
His name was Diego.
His job was Defend.
So into these furworlds
the little girl ventured,
not taking a step
from her usual home
Her family wandered
around and around her
and they never suspected
she wasn't alone.
(...but her kittenfolk sang
as she catcarved her throne...)
"I'm Tabbi-El
And I'm here to stay
And if you don't want to listen
You can go away.
I'm Tabbi-El
Here in Catland
Get out of my lane
Go play in the sand."

I hate CATS! But I loved this poem, so I suppose I'll set aside my cat-contempt and subject myself to this creatively furry landscape. Great work~

I enjoyed this, but don't all cats think they're royalty, you might have a mutiny on your hands? :) Cats are funny with all their different personalities, you described it well.
