Uncertain Heart

These words,
while intimate,
are mere stencils
for an uncertain
heart;
one smile away
from a frown and
one familiar face
away from a stranger
come to visit
in the night.

Well, I've mellowed out a bit in my four years on this site. I guess, in retrospect, things were never as dark as they appeared.
