Brown, Banded, Still Fearing Heights

Sweet Spring mistress, be gentle, tousle
me as moth bitten lace in
a colourless bath.

Leave me to ponder and shiver;
brown, banded, still fearing heights.

    Was thinking of a banded water snake but then the fear of heights equates to earth-bound. So maybe just a coecropia moth larva (sp?) - cheers!
