Classic Alchemy

By lupus tenebrae

There’s not enough lead
to bury Chernobyl,
or make ivory obsolete
through one less enamel wish

Not enough tint for heaven,
the cosmos is granted her shine

In shipments from beyond
on the words of a silver Pegasus ,
and Midas is without his touch.

Sweet dreams are priceless tokens,
and retrospect of saw serrations,
happy with what little gratitude received,
when gold is worthless after all.

Rather interesting introspect into where we, as humans, are going. I just pray we never do have to see the day where we must beg for breathable air and potable water..
