Eyes, Like Gold Coins

By lupus tenebrae

A cat's eyes, like
gold coins shimmering
on a Sunday afternoon

connect with my own
and after an exchange
that seemed to last

untold aeons, we paused,
then parted ways:
to return to our respective

windows...to see exactly
how much the world
had changed in our absence.

Man, you weren't kidding about your personal poetry month. I don't know how you do it. I would be hard pressed to write one good poem a month. You have certainly earned your 'Prolific Poet' title, I don't think anyone has ever posted as much quality poetry here at DP as you have. Eleven more days, keep it flowing man. ~b
