Bittersweet

By Scarrzz

I walk through the empty world
barely seeing my surroundings.

But occasionally the eyes behind my practiced mask
will fall across a lovely lady.

Inevitably, the first thing I notice,
is how she reminds me of you.

Inevitably I smile,
and taste the bittersweet memory.

This reminds me of a quote from a book I recently read...It said something like...every time we fall in love its because something reminds you of your first love...and how true that is. nice piece.
