Yours Immortal
By Leith Plunkett
Kiss me with apple blossom sweetness…
as floating petals kiss the grass
Caress me with feather softness…
as the lulling clouds caress the hills
Take my hand in loves forever…
as the moons hand embraces tide
Make love to me like there is no tomorrow…
passionate as suns eclipse
Entrance my vision with lover’s lust…
with fanged vampiric intent
May our lost souls dance forever where mortal bodies fear

Yeah, damn. Makes me wish for immortality. Every line whispered something enigmatic, yet real and passionate. Nicely done!

This begins softly and beautifully, constantly gaining intensity to a climax that attains escape velocity, and then a one-line anticlimax that assures a stable orbit, leaving the reader floating in reflection. Excellent piece, I very much enjoyed it.
