Thieves Bereft of Night

By lupus tenebrae

Crossroads for the passing strays,
many multicolored streaks.

Come as thieves bereft of night,
like a tide as it recedes.

I try not to sidle near,
for their presence seems to welcome.

If they were to disappear,
oh how lonely I would become.

Nice and short. Leaves lots of room to wonder. A cliffhanger if you will. JD
