"the crossroads"
By haunted
vultures wait their turn
maggots burrow at my feet
rats they crave my blood
crows are sharpening their beaks
cobwebs in my mouth
flies crawl in my ears
snakes constrict my heart
venom runs through all my tears
festering under oaks
framed like a scarecrow in the corn
in the center of a crossroads
i'm decaying ripped and torn
out of the blackest heaven
wind departs the sky
lightning cracks it's whip
the vultures start to fly
the storm it pounds the land
it's rage is just for me
the greedy bugs and birds
depart and set me free
rain washes all the filth
collected from days and nights
the sky is always darkened
stars that cast no light
so here i am now stranded
on this crossroads in the dark
the storms been washed away
but, the filth has left a mark
a man approaches slowly
his cane to aid his walk
he looks like silver lining
he asks if we could talk
he's a gentleman and charming
he is struck without a fear
he promises me the world
he sweetly whispered in my ear
blessing anything i want
anything i do desire...
i signed the dotted line
as his eyes swelled up with fire
i wanted to be him
and in exchange he would be me
he then signed the dotted line
and now he's finally free
