Transient Silk

By lupus tenebrae

Silken scales, razed by
rough hands, compound
vision frozen in fractured fear;

timid and trembling,
sickly frame punished
by a wrathful gale.

A show of bitten
eyespots, glinting madness
into passersby,

takes its bow, resigning
to the transience of shade.

    Dark, yet somehow peaceful. Nice write. JD
