Passing Cars On Cruel Repeat

A drizzle clatters,
soundless, against
the lukewarm flesh of asphalt; charred
complexion slick to careless touch:
the hurried hiss of passing cars
cutting through the mist, plays;
deafening, on cruel repeat.
