Holding No Water

By lupus tenebrae

This trophy has grown
brittle over time;

it's gold would tarnish
if given the chance

and the marble would
erode at half past
a snail's pace

...yet, there it sits,
still gatherIng dust:
 a falsehood, holding

no water.
