captivated by the cross-hairs of captivity

isolated in an amethyst cavern
where the shadows of my past lurk
more patient than an addiction
doing push-ups on my back
getting ready for yet another battle
on my hearts withering field

experiencing
an awkward moment of clarity
where i became blind
as i fumbled around inside my mind
i recognized
the touch of unspoken thoughts
and drank in the taste
of my tortured tears
tearing through my altered state
desperately wanting
to be heard
and reassured
i would make it through
myself alive

climbing
out into myself in a distant voicedimension
first things
first i must take care of these demons
doublefisting
a pair-a-lies paralyzed inside a kind disguise

no enemy more dangerous
than one's self

if exposed it's highly contagious
to the souls health

never give up the battle
never refuse
be the quake and cause the rattle
and you'll never lose

as the signs become clearer
and each breath harder to breathe
your dreams become nearer
as you continue to fall beneath
the dark
we must climb towards the light
or prepare to embark
on an inner fermented fight

back into the river of regrets
cold with tears everyone forgets

i will search my dreams
until the nightmares return
inside the silent screams
that always hope and burn

face the pain in the healing rain
and see another side of life's grain

trust and believe my words will not evaporate
better yet they will hibernate
within you and befriend your venemous hate
and just patiently wait
for the moment to present itself and obliterate
