footsteps through the sky

come stay with me awhile
on my island made of clouds
ill share my sun
with your skies
as we catch rainbows
and bend them into memories
exchanging tears
for rain drops
as our toes
dip into the sands of time
marking footsteps
meant to be retraced back to the heart
and broken dreams
mend themselves
into revised visions of happiness
we'll play catch with the moon
and paste stars in the twilight
just so i can see
that sparkle once again
grace your eyes
ill wrap you
in the golden hues of the sun
and let that warmth
seep into your soul
lend you my hope
and watch
as the light plays
in your dark skies
once more
