True Friend

I've never had a true friend,
Like the one you said you were.
I never thought to look for one,
I never saw a need.
Why tell someone about my life,
I've never done a great deed.
And so with this in my mind,
I asked why it was so.
You were quiet for a moment,
Then just simply said,
"I konw the real you".
You know the real me!
That just can't be!
I don't ever know the me deep down.
So how can you to whom I rarely talk,
Know the real me?
Know my feelings,
My imagination, my every thought.
The first and only true friend I really need,
Is the true friend that's the real me.
