Nevermind

By Six-Out

'all alone is all we are...'

Dreams...
of being you
shattered
in one instance
as Kurt Loder
announced
'Kurt Cobain has died'

'and alone is all we are...'

Records went on repeat
kids into denial
yesterday was longed for
as tomorrow seemed so vague
a Cobain-less day
not right
no...not right

'and alone is all we are...'

Guitars laid to rest
notebooks trashed in vain
dreams long forgotten
in the shadow of your name

Many years have passed
but tears do not dry
You swore you didn't have a gun
you swore
but you lied

'and alone is all we are...'

In the aftermath
of all you were
heart shaped coffins and
incoherent words

Your name forever etched
in today's fragile mind
throw it all away
whatever...nevermind...

I'm not really a fan of Nirvana, but I the words aren't lost on me. I feel sort of the same way about Dwayne Goettel. Brap on.

I've read this many a time, and I have to say, this is amazing, but it still makes me sad to think that the day he killed himself he took so many dreams with him...such a sad waste, Nirvana still lives in the true fans though. Scholar

Intriguing. But I'd like to point out that no poem about Kurt Cobain should EVER be described as "off the hook" in the comments. EVER. But it was good. I liked it. -Glass

I love this. When thinking of Kurt, I allways think of the fact that he tried in many years to make people understand that he was full of flaws. And that they should not worship a piece of shit like him. Thats a honest way of living when going out the way

No one realizes, this is far from a tribute. I loved Nirvana, but he killed himself, this is basically saying he threw away the dreams of millions. *sigh*

  • A former member wrote: Well poo on you then. No really...it is a tribute of sorts. It's a tribute to what he meant to kids and how his death affected his fans. I never once got, Kurt you're the man, from this.
