Eye of the Needle

By Mr King

releasing stress while driving.../
on the freeway wailing and whining.../
a passing bumper sticker reads, "Regime Change Starts at Home!"/
exotic doorway thru thin air still sought after via rod of divining.../

oh what a wonderful world on fire!/
what's the fastest way 4 me 2 create reality from this desire?/

trying 2 implant my poetry into the brain space of the American popular audience just enough 2 succeed.../
while simultaneously creating an intelligent philosophical foundation 4 my seed/

trying not 2 fail 4 lack of sufficient stimulation.../
while working within the concentration limitations of an attention deficit disorder generation!/

racking my own media infused brain.../
acid in my stomach forming a piercing pain/
survival of a poet in the Flaming Hot Cheeto ages.../
poem seems outdated before the pen hits the pages/

Red Hot Chili Pepto Bismol.../
but in these times where nothing's shocking and everything seems like a cliche/
i can't stop because these words repressed.../
and never expressed.../
seem 2 dissolve the inner lining of my stomach away/

call me then an obsessed poet here 2 warn.../
standing out in the thundering rain.../
preaching intelligence and faith thru the storm/

trying 2 write something powerful 4 the good of man.../
while knowing that i must reach a piece of that elusive and ever shrinking American attention span.../
trying 2 make it thru what looks like an eye of a needle, at this point, appears 2 be the plan/

trying 2 survive the next big mass extinction event.../
will it be my Final Destination 2?/
living in a society where 1 man's life or death struggle 2 survive and keep a dream alive is another man?s 50 Cent entertainment.../
sometimes it feels like i've already been thrown overboard with my feet frozen in cement/

and although i've often had doubts, thinking i'll never make it, have no way 2 reach you, and nowhere 2 run.../
from the edge of this apparently bottomless, apocalyptic, cruel world of ignorant, depraved, and crooked men.../
i will ascend thru poetry one fine day with a bloody lifeline tied 2 my tongue.../
teaching the children and helping 2 bring forth the Dawn of a New Civilization like a rising Sun!/

4 this is where i make my stand.../
do or die with this flag.../
into the ground right here and now.../

i plant this One/

Never surrender it. I to see the need to make a stand and i try in my own way to change things through poetry and writing. You seem to be far more talented than I though.
