Exist to Be

By caustic ink

Sitting in the corner
Of a room with
no windows
Or doors
Trapped
Isolated
Longing for freedom
but scared to escape

Dreams keep hope alive
...Hope....
Just a pipe-dream
No other options
Just exist
A no-name in an empty room
Wanting to be seen
Be heard
Be
Be happy
Be sad
Be
To open his heart
and have his offering
accepted
To stop etching hash marks
on the walls of his cell

The prison in his mind
Escape is not possible
He longs to go
Needs to go
Into the world
Where he can be what he wants
Be what he feels
Where he can just
Be

Your use of the isolated vernacular is impressive enough. Please GET YOUR FUCKING ACCOUNT VALIDATED so we don't lose you. Thanks! -pxc
