"cry for hymn"

By haunted

upon this deep darkened sky
on the horizon you open your wings
hell opens up like a fault line
where lucifer proudly sings

a song of death and destruction
his melody like a trance
breath of fire and eyes of black
his demons are here to dance

evil is pouring like rain
there's no shelter from stormy skies
a priest is shouting scriptures
from the infamous book of lies

lucifer laughing loudly
like thunder clapping at god
impaled with his holy cross
confessing the book a fraud

humans are just submission
bow to his golden throne
incynerating the fucking world
so that Jesus is left all alone

a mass of fires are burning
providing this world is dark
heavens angels dare to speak
where the angels used to hark

you have no fucking power
your prayers are an empty plan
mankind is sick of waiting
your now much less of a man

so take your nails and walk
and take your sweet little lamb
to the burning city of hell
the city of Bethlehem

A sugar-coated psalm of celebration my friend H. Indeed; there are kernels of truth in all good satire, like embers that glow in the Hellfire. If we reject all forms of religion, then only ourselves remain. How depressing...Your closing was inspired. Cheers my friend! - Dan

This was beyond anything I have read in a while. Though metaphorically written, I was reminded of politics, the Vatican, even a bit of the Pope. There were many interesting, yet thought provoking lines; I couldn't choose which ones resonated with me. Brazen ink! ... ~Devlin
