Happiness! Be not so illusive!

By Circe Avalon

The sun is now shining and with it is hope
Warming the backs of the pessimistic
Those who deemed it not worth waiting for
A crowd that I now slither from
I want to fill up with the sun
Bring it's yellow heat into the night with me
blanket me from the terrors that come out of oblivion
Keep me
take me
if I could forever be in the sun and celebrate
Where laughter pours out of mouths and children never cry
Where tears are only for fanciful things
Where acorns and flower petals are the only things of monetary value
Where a dance costs a kiss
Where songbirds braid your hair with ribbons of joy
And the rivers sing in stanzas
And raindrops of warmth caress your skin
and bathe you in glistening delight
twinkling eyes and desire rule the air
bring me to that place.
I never wanted this crown of night
I've been washed in despair for too long
unshackle my bonds and let me chase the sun

The sun still burns, children's voices still scorn, and dacning kisses often bring with it infectious disease. I say your better off in the cool, crisp darkness that helped write this amazing poem. Where would we be without sadness?

parallel to sadness, we are all sad and we never reach the other side. Only a few spaces away and then you get kicked back to start.
