Circe Avalon

Circe Avalon's picture
I am a starving artist, with both poetry and art. I generally write by train of thought, short verse or long verses. These are the things that are beautiful to me.

"Let not the passing of time wither your eyes from what is divine."

"If questioning would makes us wise no eyes would ever gaze in eyes; if all our tale were told in speech no mouths would wonder each to each. Were spirits free from mortal mesh and love not bound in hearts of flesh no aching breasts would yearn to meet and find their ecstasy complete. For who is there that lives and knows the secret powers by which he grows? Were knowledge all, what were our need to thrill and faint and sweetly bleed? Then seek not, sweet, the "if" and "why" I love you now until I die. For I must love because I live in me is what you give." -Bill Acher

The Siren-"He listened in thrall to the song of the siren,
Her voice like a star as it flew threw the air
He drowned in her eyes as she called him to follow,
And likened the sun to the gold of her hair
She swept up her arms and held him close to her
Her soft lips caressing the lines of his brow
He could not resist her, a magic had trapped him,
And nothing could save him, for she had him now
She pulled him down with her into the clear water,
He gasped as death started the grip on his soul
His life ebbed away as she dragged him still further,
And laughed when she saw she'd accomplished her goal."-Charlotte Lester

"Here's the sad story about a deer and a man-
A romantic scene
from a lullaby
in a clearing green
where his eyes meet mine
I was froze in motion
how his bow was raised
and the fleeting notion
that my life he'd save

But I saw it coming
flying threw the air
feathered backside humming
miss me, hit me where
for it will only hurt me
not a mortal wound
leave me lying dirty
someone will find me soon

I have never felt like this before
felt my body sinking to the grassy floor
No I have never felt a love like this
felt the flaming arrow of the hunters kiss

My life is not mine
like a dog or a wife
He has taken his time
He has taken my life

I could see the steaming
of his cloudy breathe
No I was not dreaming
I was next to death
As I lay there twitching
As my legs were tied
there was nothing missing
on the day I died

I have never felt like this before
felt my body sinking to the grassy floor
No I have never felt a love like this
felt the flaming arrow of the hunters kiss"
