Death's Fallen In love with a Mortal

By Circe Avalon

He takes my hand,
his is cold and lifeless
Looks in my eyes,
He wants to caress

He smells my hair,
And inhales deeply
He feels my skin
and trembles with me

He looks in my eyes,
And soaks me in,
He touches my lips,
And lifts my chin

He feels faint and ghostly,
And shimmering night
He smells like dust,
About to take flight

I kiss his lips,
To make him speak

I touch his cheek,
I feel so weak

I remove myself,
And let him take me

My body is his,
In the world of the living
I cease to be
