Circles of Protection
By Aurora_Light
I’m crying in my room again
The tears cascade down my cheeks
Falling into my dear Zippy’s fur
My only true friend that will be with me forever more
The tears have stopped falling now
The animal friends of old stand guard
The stitches of that loving quilt
Wrapped around me keeping me safe.
Looking back now I would have to say
The circles of protection came much
Much easier back in those days.
Love and safety are now so hard to find
Now that my circles of protection are lost with time.

I want to give you a great big hug. With every day we are get further and further from the safety we once enjoyed without realizing it. I invisioned you so sad and lonely. This is great, in such a sad way.

The carefree memories of a life once lived so easily flood my mind while reading deeply into these words. The painfulness of life eventually rapes the innocence of young life away almost within the blink of an eye.. This was almost too much for my heart

I find the line "Now that my circles of protection are lost with time" particularly striking as I have been recently meditating on this topic. This poem talks about this thought further. Wonderful piece. -jules
