Little Bones

By Circe Avalon

Devils child, Childs play
Can you see the raining hell today?
Massive scars of painted dreams
Lullabies are heated things

Playground made of jagged glass
Careful don't fall on your ass
Can these bleeding eyes not cry?
Children's tears fall from the sky

Wounded knees on the skipping stones
Lay canvases of little bones
Screaming little voices near
Make your ear drums bleed from fear

Haggard voices whispering fast
Taunting you with toys of the past
Do you want your doll today?
Or should I just throw it way?

Quiet anger fills the room
The only haven is the tomb
A pocket full of poises dear
For your bedtime does draw near

A pill for some restful sleep
And may your little eyes cease to peep
Kindergarten wishes dear
May the cradle of the dead draw near
