melt
By KittyStryker
kiss me like a saxophone solo
i want to taste the rhythm long ago
sent down, down into the earth
it rises in my blood
when you take me by the hand
swing me round, hold me close
because i am melting when you touch me
and i am dancing even when we stand still
you are jazz, you are the way
a woman's hips sway as she moves
i feel Harlem in the way we move together
can you taste the summer heat
when our lips meet?
you are lemonade during a thunderstorm
when the lightning flashes and skin prickles
the rain falling on my skin at midnight
when the air is so thick you can slice it
you are fresh blueberries hidden
sunsoaked on the forest paths
come run with me through worlds
unknown by the busy streets
and the city smog- worlds still breathing
past melodies and dreams
we can close our eyes and spin
pretend we never saw the things we've seen
it's summer and the sky shines
with possibility
and so do we

That is a very beautiful piece! From the first lines "kiss me like a saxophone solo i want to taste the rhythm long ago sent down" and throughout. VERY cool and full of a liquid rhythm. Ciao, T/S

"we can close our eyes and spin pretend we never saw the things we've seen" You paint a picture fluidly. Velvet smooth and sweet as the lemonade of which you speak. Very good write, babe. Very good indeed. -Glass
