Digital Love

By Delphoid-Q

I met a girl the other day
But have never seen her smile -
Nor have I heard her voice so sweet;
Nor gazed into the fathoms of her eyes.

I got to know a girl the other day
Through words that flashed upon a screen.
We spoke across a web of wire;
Our longing reduced to binary.

I fell in love with a girl the other day
And we shared all of our fears.
We danced across a silicon floor
And kissed in a cyber land.

So now we have each other, my mystery girl and I:
And I think it is enough for now to love her from afar.

For never was there a surer place than in her unknown arms,
To protect myself from the world, and all its painful harms.

    I think "Digital Love" type poems are going to become rather prevalent in the near future... and I hope they're all as good as this was.

    Point taken… Most of it is role-playing requiring no responsibility. Feelings, however, are feelings and must be expressed ;)
