Tumor for Your Thoughts?
By dwells
Oblivious: we thought that we were well
R.F. bombardment; changes to our brain
Lobotomized, we welcomed our new Hell
We sanctified the phones we thought were swell
Creating tumors, no one dares explain
Oblivious: we thought that we were well
A world of lies is where we choose to dwell
Forbidden soon to drive a car or train
Lobotomized, we welcomed our new Hell
When Men are meek the Women will rebel
Small consequence; our vacant lives profane
Oblivious: too deeply in the spell
Our scrambled thoughts; in perfidy we fell
Important matters always too mundane
Depressed and sick we die in our new Hell
Automatons, inhabiting a shell
The gift of wires replacing every vein
Oblivious: we thought that we were well
Lobotomized, we welcomed our new Hell

Technology is the worst addiction there is. Mostly because people don't see it as an addiction. This was refreshing [Even though I had to turn on some technology to read it] ;p

this is sad but true dwells. a lot of people don't know what kind of hell is coming. i was reading the other day that cell phone companies are soon going to 5G which is an even higher exposure to low band frequency radiation. they've only done experiments with short term exposure, not continuous exposure. so they really don't even know what effect it could have on us., as if they care. any way, be well my brother. - m0

Mo, KB, and TS too! Appreciate always your attentions my friends. I guessed a "penny for your thoughts" wouldn't have worked as well in this title? Anyways, the lab rats know and the cockroaches don't care. Cheers all! - Dan

Outstanding piece! Truely, “we welcomed our new Hellâ€... Little by little these guys are absorbing our information, our privacy, and our freedom...no right to be anonymous and hold some fact...some preference...something we keep just for ourselves and our loved ones...

Many thanks Drea, MV, and Sol - I jumped out of bed with this in my head. Seemed too broad in scope at first but the villanelle form has become my Occam's Razor. Cheers all! - Dan

An ode to the fate of our society as we blindly allow technology to woo us from ever thinking or seeing things for ourselves. More than just a physical tumor, technology is a social tumor whittling away our very humanity. Who needs face time when you have Face Time © ...Well written! Always a charming view as our universe implodes!
