The cost

By Lylani

Silence every scream
Bite your tounge and still your tears
Be every bit the lady
Look him in the eye with grace and dignity

Know
you did not deserve this

Know
that your tears are of no consequence to him
Your heart not even a second thought

Know
He is a stranger

Because your ficticious imaginings of the  man
Could never be this cruel

You are falable
So when you can't bare the sharpness
The splinters of your soul
Lock the doors
Shut the curtains
Turn up the volume
So
No-one will hear
No-one will see
The power of a heart
That hates its body
The destruction wrought by ghosts

Know that time does not heal
(Unless you let it)

Know that hate
Festers and grows

Know that revenge
Is best contemplated

Taken as a choice
It's no solution
Because
Most importantly

Know
That your happiness
is
The sacrifice
The price
For the decimation of his soul

It will not cure your sorrows

Will not heal your wounds

Will not make him love you

So choose
