Love is Wordless
By Lylani
I always assumed Love was loud
Full of Passion and Fire
But Fire destroys
And Passion will tire
I thought it was staying up till dawn
Talking the world to rights
But they're just things we said
To hide the emptiness of night
I thought it was screaming
to make you understand
But I was screaming my insecurities
The bits of me I cannot stand
Then there was you
Quiet
Understated
Overflowing in shy beauty
Love lingers in the gentle brush
of your lips against mine
It hides in the depths of your eyes
When our bodies entwine
It is falling down exhausted
from holding hands and kicking leaves
It is the hue of your blushes
when I catch you watching me
It is locked in your arms
When you hold me through tears
It is what's kept us together
through all of these years
Love is wordless
Love is peaceful
Love is true
Love is you not changing me for you

You make love sound like wonderful thing to be in. The quietness that is left when all else fades away.

These soft words screamed at me. So beautiful in identifying simplicity in love.(It is falling down exhausted from holding hands and kicking leaves) This image for me was so, so beautiful. Faved for sure

very tender, capturing a slice of the myriad of ways in which love manifests daily in the often overlooked moments of togetherness. I especially am drawn to the final line... where there is found a kind of freedom in embrace; an atmosphere of anticipation, of welcoming the 'you' that does not become a 'you for me'. Existential.

Beautifully worded. But does love really need tangible reasons, or labels for what it is?

I don't think it needs tangible reasons or lables - I think it's something that is completly inexplixable but is sometimes glipsed in tangible moments
