Role play

By Lylani

Lets play make believe...
Translation :-
You shall pretend to be madly in love with me
And I shall be distant and not really care
You will desire me, crave me and adore me
I will enjoy an evening of meaningless fun
You will beg me to stay
I will make some lame excuse

And when the evening ends
You will laugh and wonder about my silly little ways
And I ... I will have the dignity to walk away
before you see me break

Yes, excellent piece! Very well written! ...I think you could do a lot better by allowing yourself to take a chance, though...just fyi from experience. Take some time up front to see evidence that someone is trustworthy...then be open. Shutting yourself off will surely prevent you from being hurt BY someone...but you are still hurting YOURSELF...and cutting yourself off from a whole realm of human experience... Scholar

Trying to divorce the physical act from emotional "entanglements" to protect yourself from being hurt only serves to make one more coarse and it takes a lot of work to undo that mindset and the related patterns later. Trust me. Scholar

... I think I know her ... and I definitely live this ... silly little thing, but it slapped me in the face, making/breaking me as I realize I'm just... a pretender.

...or, at least, pretending that I pretend, when really, I'm the one who breaks when she walks away.

I know I'm guilty of that too, sometimes its too hard to admit the way you feel about someone because you know it will ruin whatever it is you have with them even if what you have is not all you want it to be
