Cold

By Scarrzz

I am so cold,
in this barren place.

The wind whips around me
and I can't see which way to go.

The only warmth I can remember
came from the light in your eyes.

What would I not give
to see it again?

A single tear runs down my cheek
crystallizing as it falls

Lost in the blowing snow.

I love the way you relate feelings of coldness paired with actually being cold.. Great write :)

  • A former member wrote: I like Lolita's idea below; the interpretive possibility of the barrenness being solidified by the snow, where each flake is but another tear shed by the lost souls blinded by their own isolation as they seek endlessly for the light in each other. Very nicely developed.

I somehow missed these comments. Thank you both very much. Yes, they're all teardrops, one for the brokenness in each of us. Scholar
