Journal - Rainy Days

I had an interesting day today. Its been raining since last night pretty steadily. Its a warm summery rain, probably the last one we'll have this year, and I got this urge to go for a run in the rain, so I did. Went around 15 of the 18 holes of the golf course in the pouring rain. It was great. I'm sure everyone that saw me thought I was nuts, but I really don't care
( as long as the guys in white coats don't come and take me away, HeHe HaHa HoHo.)

I ran for an hour and a half, making sure to go through the deepest part of all the puddles which approached the size of ponds, and in one case, a small river. It was often over ankle-deep, and often running pretty fast. Like that for a good 150 yards in one place.

It was kinda funny, I was running along, in my own little world, and suddenly noticed that it had gotten a lot deeper, above mid-calf. Some part of my brain sounded an alert and my visual sensors scanned the area. I had been running through the water and didn't see that the golf cart track turned & I didn't. I was running in a ditch. 8-p

After the run, I went over to sit on the dock and watch the raindrops playing on the river. As soon as I sat down, a big pretty dolphin came up for air even with me, probably 50 feet away. I sat in the rain and watched the drops making patterns on the water while he swam around looking for a late lunch.

He was going downstream at first, and I watched him surface every minute or so until his fin was just a dark dot in the distance. I thought he was gone, but then he started back my way. He came back and the last time I saw him was from about 30-40 feet away. I decided to go home at that point, because watching him leave made me feel sad the first time.

Anyway, that was my day. Hope yours was good.
