Journey to Nowhere
By Scarrzz
Down a lonely road I walk,
Surrounded by strangers.
No one can see me, I am not here.
I am a Wraith, a shadow of what was my life.
Some look my way as they pass by,
but they only see what they want to see.
Darkness falls from the inside out
blotting out all light, all hope, all peace.
The vessel is too badly broken to contain them.
But the empty ache of loneliness overflows,
spilling from my eyes and from my ruptured soul.
Empty eyes, the windows to the soul,
I cannot see the way ahead.
Where is the Spirit that gave me joy?
I gave it away to the one person that truly saw me.
But once seen, I was unwanted,
and once given, my love was cast away.
So down a lonely road I walk,
Not because I have anyplace to go,
but because I hate where I am.

I would welcome the company. Walking alone gets old eventually and the best journeys are meant to be shared.
