Remember me in your trappings of death

By Circe Avalon

in my loneliness I do beseech thee
Remember me
For I am like the wind
And like a gentle breeze,
I do wander
in light
and in darkness
Like a sweet fragrance,
my youth
doth takes it's leave of me
And like love, I shall wither
and like death, I do come
And may come again
Remember me,
I do beseech thee,
My painted warrior,
My lover, Remember
These fickle woes of mine own cherished heart
Remember the favors you gave
So passionately, into my care
So I take them to my heart.
Though their fragrance doth fade,
and like fragrance, all color and meaning
Remember me
Remember the trappings of a love yet past
I smile now for those happy times, the revelry
the chaos
Remember
I doth now beg
Remember the walks in the orchard
you held me more tightly then the space of our bodies did permit
And closer still to your heart
Night has seen my heartbreak
she has cast her stars
and will no longer show her face
for pity
Were I a mountain, to weather the time, a summit
Prithee, do not forget
I dance upon the waves of the oceans bounty
yet I see no beauty
Remember my beauty
If only trifle and short lived
Remember me
My eyes no longer shine like the sun
They have become like turbulent storm clouds
and shower much akin to those self same clouds
Showers mean harvest,
but my heart has nothing to grow
Remember the song birds melody
and how you likened it to my voice
to that pleasing harmony
Now only mournful wails and silence escapes these lips
holding prisoner my happiness
And much like thine lips, myself is held prisoner
My love captivated by the favors of a cold embrace
Remember me
Remember for whom you once lived for
Remember
For the physical death is far less painful
then the wrenching, searing death of the soul
Comatose and melancholy am I
Remember

..the hell? how is it that no one has commented here? once again, the true art at dark poetry goes unnocticed.. troubling. ah well, the great most often do stand alone. ;) ~b
