Pictures Scream to ears ready to listen
By Circe Avalon
The scene is set, old black and white picture, flickers and then brought
into focus; Two young lovers, One proclaims that the day is even darker
without their partner. The Partners eyes fill with euphoric delight, in
the knowledge that their counterpart in love feels this way. They descend
upon one another so that one would suppose they had starved for one another.
Their kisses turn gentle then and they look into one another's eyes. The
shot pans out.
How sweet it sounds to mine ears
So sweet that the saliva has turned
Making a hunger deep inside
A hunger to fill a void
A void that is born out of mine own despair
Is this a void that is common place among people the world over?
Do they mourn it in tandem like I am often prone to do?
This deep and scar like burn,
A burn that urges to be righted
This If-not-now-when? Burn
An itch would not suffice
I imagine many nods in agreement
A wave, a small army
But one must ponder the slow scary thought that I am alien and that No
one knows this feeling.
A very lonely conclusion
A very stupid approach.....But we are merely...human
Not so hard for us to suppose, in fear, in distrust that we are without
peer.
Peerless
And is love the same way,
Does one love claim not to be the same as another?
Do we grasp fatally
Is there Hope
It falls on ears, a dirty word
Hope
Brings a tear to mine eye to imagine the world without, yet can one
afford to assume otherwise?
Love must bring it's own complications
Some trial and tribulation to win hearts desire
I would viciously hate anyone who unsuspecting, falls into the emotional
whirlpool
Mayhap it is pure envy
Mayhap I don't care
I just know that IF
Another dirty word but..
If I become worthy of that wrenching,
heart throbbing, euphoric, scream that Love is
A true raging tempest
I pray that I could keep it
Not too much to ask?
Yes, in truth it is
But still...
A star, a genii, a goddess, May I keep that love
Although I may be small in the eyes of the force of creation
I ask
And If the Gods were to smite me for it
...........I would ask again.

Wow... this poem brought to mind all the beautiful paradoxes of love, and you wrote most splendidly too. I must say, well done, very well done!
