Grief's Dance

By Circe Avalon

To every chain that was ever broken
To every soul who took loves token
With every breath the departed breathe
With ever ache the loved ones grieve

Summers passage into fall
And winters that see no end at all
A painted melody, a dreamless sleep
In rhythm with the depth less sea

With terrors of a past offense
That are never truly evident
And the eyes that see but cannot depict
The heart that cries but lacks signs of it

A heavy sign mixed with a wrenching sob
And tears well up and brain does throb
And 'never again' runs though your head
Along with 'It would be easier were I dead'

It feels as if tears should trace paths down my face
But the liquid tracks I cannot for certain place
As if the well of sorrows dried
And the tears will not abide
Instead there is burning ravishing my heart
Like an ocean cannot be found to lend it's part

Tears will not help this pain I feel
But maybe if it were on the on the outside
Others would know it was real

This dance,
This play,
These emotions to unfold
And with all the spectators no ones fooled

sigh - winters that see no end at all- even in the heat of summer I feel cold. I don't know perhaps I'm having a bad day? This is just too close to how I feel.
