Let January come

By Dejected_Worth

Let January come
these things don't scare me anymore
Not like they used to
Not like they should
I'm not the victim you intended
Still a slave to all your needs
But that's okay with me
You'll make it up to me

So let August roll on by
And leave that longing in your eye
I never meant to leave
You locked the doors on me
I'm not a casualty this time
I'm just the one you left behind
But that's all well and fine
you'll make it up next time

So come down to your senses
And tear down all these fences
The one's keeping you so safe
And keeping me away
This is the loneliest of fates
It's just you and me at stake
But it's okay today
You'll make it up someway

These situations are rough, especially if one (or both) are resigned to perpetuate the cycle. There's lots of ponds out there, though the amount and quality of fish in each may vary. Maybe try out some new bait! Interesting read, thank you for sharing :)
