The Solitary Climb
By RubyXero
In a long lost time
in a far distant place
a forgotten reverie..
we were of one mind
one spirit.
Twin blades.
sisters
of the quest.
I strove to overcome the fear
and to emanate strength,
while you were tall
confident and blessed.
Admiring the gifts
and ease
with which you played.
Smooth fluid rhythms
by
your strong violin.
...until his fierce hands
reached for your
bow
and plucked every string
from your solid heart.
Oh woe to those who suffer
under his destruction.
Tragedy.--
Like unto deity
demanding respect . and fear .
Bending low
to scour the earth
recovering what pieces were left.
The re
building process
arduous and long.
Only, this rotation
you
feared.
Hesitated.
Took the secure path
one of surety
exaltation
You blossomed anew
into this brilliant white rose.
But you still possess thorns,
dear one. You still. cannot. deny.
the connection that was once...
This solemn woman
who
I claim
slowly attempting the climb.
Who fights and falls
and carries upon her back
your mark
bare
and raw
for
all eyes.
The power of water and fire
a balanced curious dance
of perfection.
And for all those questioned words
they call
to me and speak
"what does thou challenge?
What does thou claim!
by those markings??"
Without my inspiration
by my side
I reply,
"Many hands that clock runs
away and away.
If I can but steal one calm moment
and spare one still glance
I would see lush green evers...
hypersensitive energy
Electric!
And there would be two sisters
one spirit..."
But.
I cannot stop time
cannot live in the could've
beens
Only but smile and silence my sadness
accept your distance.
Keep my sights ahead
and above
I can only
climb..
Author's Note:
I'm in a family of 6 but one of my sisters and i had such an amazing connection... when she changed it has hit me pretty hard and I still can't get over it...Comments on "The Solitary Climb"

there is longing and strength here at the same, a suffering but also a powerful resilience that transcends the deep empty wells of a dead relationship.

I am so mad I dont have any to room to bookmark this! God this piece has such a signature way about it that I can't explain. So, spiritual, so timeless. Like this could have been discovered on tapestries long long ago. An ancient wisdom so close to home. Your writing has evolved and transformed. Your wisdom paints as it breathes....

People get older and bruised by life, buried underneath responsibilities, and nothing stays the same for very long. May you recapture those good times again, if only for a moment or two, cheers! This piece was dripping with melancholia, well done.
