slip into wonder

By DIATRICUS

I cannot help but
slip into wonder

anon the breathless, callous daring
out from heaven once called
and culled
and felled
and dreamt
and spent
with sharp talon --
your very being
synchronous with beauty

walk with me awhile

share your delightful insight
that I might feed on purity
itself

question be my utility
absent of humility, just once more
I beg of thee

present the charm, and
its sister, notion
that I might drink on wisdom
itself

walk with me awhile
as I slip...
