because blood roses are a sure sign of the Devil,
and thorns can kill the best of ‘em.

Interesting concept and I wish I could pretend I had wrote of this but really this is a poem I wrote when I was 13 years old and wanted a way to capture the darkness that I've always felt when I look at roses. For some they are a symbol of love but they've always seemed ominous to me.
