I missed you forever

I cried those gasping tears
The ones that steal the air from your lungs
The way you used to take my breath away

And when there was nothing left of me
But splinters of my broken glass heart
All bearing your reflection

I fought...
I fought so hard
To prise my fingers
From the grip they had on your memory

I dragged my numb soul
Through empty routines
Until i found a me worth saving

I purged you
I scrubbed you from my pores
Like dirt
Though you were the cleanest
Most perfect man of all

It was the hardest thing I EVER did
But I made it
