Scientific Mating...is for the birds

By Circe Avalon

His caress makes my skin itch
from anticipation?
or desire?
My brain is instantly confused
The flirtation is exhilarating
and intoxicating
Tracing flames that flush from my face down my torso
I don't want to be too obvious
but have I already crossed that threshold?
My scientific mind wants to take a step back and investigate
my hormones want me to rush straight in and screw the consequences
So I sit at a crossroads
Playing with the delicious notion of throwing caution to the wind
But I figure out plausible outcomes
and all data confirms a failure
I hate failure and want to prove it wrong
My mission to be compatible overrides my research
My research is founded by my own fears
What a confusing spiders web of trickery!
My mind has installed a faulty software
And only believes the worst aspects of who I am
And a virus of passion clouds my head
No more measurements,
calculations or misconstrued thoughts
I want to feel every gaze and touch
every backwards sigh of delight
whether it be shortly lived or indefinite
This prison of emotions is set free

And what a battle it can be endure. This is more scientific than I have looked at this thought before, well more real than the statistics behind it. Well played. ~T

thank you for your generous praise! At first I thought "Science in poetry...can I make it work? Well we'll find out" Again I am honored! Thank you!
