I have gazed upon the distant night
lingering upon this frozen earth
cloaked within a black velvet sky.
pulling reality close, closing my eyes
dreaming dreams of yearning
and the illusion of you.
drinking in your peaceful slumber
as loves breath escapes my lips
I will love you forever.
always a part of me
holding you nestled
within my empty dreams.
time is dead now
and the sky grows darker
treading the path towards home.
past the graveyard of plans
and the could have beens
closing the door left alone.
