glass heart

By FadedBlues

glass heart

heart of glass, reflecting love

like a mirror, we can see

within its brightwork,  you and me

heart of glass, reflecting love

treasures come and treasures pass

like a sky from dark to blue

like a poem standing true

a work of art, this heart of glass

not of iron, nor of stone

not of stardust, nor of wax

it, beauty holds, but strength it lacks

a heart of glass can’t beat alone

a heart of glass will trust the rain

a man should live a hundred years

and never taste those bitter tears

with love, a crystal walled domain

a heart of glass can hold a vow

a gentle dream, if we forsake

a heart of glass was made to break…

heart of glass is shattered now

Friends, thanks. beautiful things are always the most breakable...

  • A former member wrote: reminds me of snow white for some reason and the fragility of the things we take most for granted. i am shattered, too. this has a chime-like orchestral flow to it. fitting and sorrowful. "my heart is broke. i have some glue." but it's never quite the same, is it?

Precious hearts,.... ice hearts melt, to be replaced, by hearts of glass. Solid glass, or ruby gem? Perhaps it will not shatter then, only chip , or be engraved, polished to shine and glisten, when the heart is saved. X x x x

Pyrex is unbraekable with temperature extremes. But I think the breaking is part of the making process, as we become beings betond the animal instincts that clamor for control, cheers!

Everyone wants a heart of stone, diamonds, rubies or a precious heart , gold, platinum. Always a mineral heart. , But you Oh! No, you want the real one, glass, the only one that can be broken.

they are made to be broken and also need to be handled with care, although one can endure more than thought before its shatters into tiny fragmented pieces... Scholar
