The Big let down

By Circe Avalon

The moment an utterance leaves your lips you are obligated to a word
And with a word, one must string along a sentence

A sentence is easy, now, a conversation, that is an art.
And you have just started with the word so...
{Go on make an ass out of yourself.}

It couldn't be worse.
Your eyes fill up with 'what I want to says'
And a filter to block all those things applies itself
But you judge that filter, and as a human, you are the only one to fault
{No time to think about it, go on}

"Yeah, I didn't catch your name"
Subtle, very good.
But,.....I tire of this game of tag.
Be honest, but it will scare them away.
Don't be honest, be coy, and play at this charade forever.
I have no patience for this game.
If I wanted to play tag, I would enlist children.
If I want a lover,...well, you get the idea.

BUT! He will not take the bait. In all honestly has no time and has better taste...then you.

Some call this a burn. This is no burn. This is the small obstacle course of tragedies that make up a life, and the cuts and bruises, the agony is the soundtrack.
Do you ever want to stop.
throw your hands in the air.
Shake your fist at god.

{Quit.} Yes, of course you do.

Get up. Dust the regret off your knees

No time for should have been, would have been. It wouldn't have. Get up. get ready for the next let down... or give up.
{SHUT UP!}

I hate that voice.
