[life] as.art

By Six-Out

sometimes you have to- rip yourself. to.[pieces]
to see who/you really..._are

'a man once told me. this one time, to tear apart who I am-
and in the cracks/ shattered foundations, I will find truth.
he told me. just me. that we all know- who we really are-
without knowing who.we.are- really.'

so I took a knife. in the shape of a pen- and ripped out my heart
blood flowed as ink- and the world could see me- as I've never seen me
and my life became my canvas. catching tears turned to lead
as my hands spread my blood across the face. of nostalgia
and created a masterpiece- life.as.art

I took my words. and tore out my soul- set forth in the form of poetry
raw. as all inhibitions were left behind/ and I never looked back
because you can't learn from the past. only see where you failed
and failure- is to regret. and I don't regret it at all.

-this man told me once. that when you [tear] apart your being
you are being true to yourself. and yourself is all you have.

I sometimes- wonder. if anyone ever told this man- not to pull to hard
because sometimes. when you rip apart who you are- it's hard
to piece it back together.

and sometimes. the pieces get broken- and then you're stuck
cracked- and alone. with nothing but yourself.

When you tear yourself apart to figure out who you are, sometimes it leaves you worse off...There are somethings best left in the cracks because once you take them out they don't always fit back in place and then your left broken...and you did a beautiful job of conveying that in this poem.. I fucking loved it, as always.
