Aspyxiation (battle for the truth)
By Six-Out
4:12 am
as the t.v. gives of its
haunting glow
and scenes of death/destruction
lost faith, and humanity
flash before my eyes
I'm taken back to the day
that I met him
-Zachary Sanderson-
it was raining, a dreadful day
[to say the least] as I
sat at the local coffee shop
reading the sunday morning paper
when he came up
and sat beside me
The world is such a desolate place
full of famine, death, hopelessness
why even go on
searching for your false God
The words hit me like a tidal wave
as I stared in wonder
at this boy, who out of nowhere
said things like this
to a total stranger
it was then that I saw
the emptiness in his eyes
Look at the world
and you can see, in every blank face
in every tear that falls from
a mother, that has lost her child
and you can see, it's obvious
if there ever was a God
He has forsaken you
As he stood, to walk away
with his cane, to guide him
I asked why
why did he feel this way
and what had killed his faith
and his answer was given
with such conviction
that tears filled my eyes
I can hear the rain
pounding on the street, yet I can't see it
I can hear the birds in the mornings
yet I can't gaze upon their majestic beauty
I can hear your words
yet I can't see the truth in your eyes
What kind of benevolent God would take away
the beauty of life
What kind of caring father would submit
a son, to a life of darkness
so you, my friend, you continue on your way
you seek for meaning in this futile life
you bow before your ficticious idols
as for me....I'll be free
and with that, he was gone
and I was there, watching the rain fall
watching the people running down the sidewalk
and I knew, my life was changed
------------------------------------------------
the last image shows, a woman
cradling her newborn child...dead
as bodies lie around her, such a disgrace
-cut to the news anchor, snug behind his desk
with his most sincerly mournful face
4:27 am
t.v. off
I need sleep

I know brilliance when I see it. Everything I read of yours has an impact. You stir the emotions like a Kitchenaid cranked to 10. *bows slowly and steps away*

Maybe I'm wrong but... the blind man and the tv/news paper have a lot in common. when i walk down the street my eyes never see a broken world but when I pick up a paper or turn on tv...there it is.

That's the thing. The tv, the newspapers, they report news. That's real life. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen...

A brilliant reflection of the reality that we as a society, as a country, and as a people have created... but where are WE COMMITTED to taking them ALL, NOW, in this lifetime?!

How blind is the blind man. Can truth be detected through a wavering voice... can beauty be felt by keen fingertips. Memorizing every texture... groove, crevice... can vanilla be tasted on the tongue as a young woman walks by.

wonderfully written my friend. tis such a disgrace how we ruin the wonderful world "god" has placed us on. ha. but why give us something so wonderful, only to destroy it? that indeed, is a "mystery". liked it anyway. and dont ever flick off a blind man...

Incredible.. it's like diving into a profound memory and coming back up to the surface into cold reality. The message is so heart wrenching, so raw and true. This is amazing, fantastic work Six.

This reminds me of how irritating it is to hear actors who make multi millions complain about how they don't get enough sleep, how can someone possibly sympathize with a mother who lost her child, this was depressing, though beautifully written *~seraph~*
