Disciplinarian

By dwells

In agony, protests the throaty throng
The pleasure-reeking children of despair
Our sense is real; we think because we feel

No melody infects our primal song
The childhood lessons we could never share
Experimental; just another meal

For we are weak and they, forever strong
Emotional indifference with a flair
We grunt and gasp (they love to hear us squeal)

We suffer for their lives that we prolong
Acknowledged when we writhe without a care
The lowest caste (we know the kiss of steel)

The pliable, who hate to get along
Will idolize a future for the fair
Monstrosity created by their zeal

Imprisoned in this Zoo of Right and Wrong
Above us, as they judge us from the air
Cacophony: they broke another seal!

Man, you seem to have had some prophetic visions of what was coming. There was a line in something about artists at the beginning of the Third Reich and it said, "we were just maladjusted enough to know what would come next." Well, me too... and apparently you too. : ) HFS... Ciao, Steve Scholar

Hi VR and so good to be back! I see that my anonymous detractor is still lurking out there; after an absence of almost one year (gave me another "2" on these tercets in ABC monorhyme). In truth, it was a bit of a jumble. Be well my friend and cheers! - Dan

Yes, I noticed someone had gone in and given me a lot of 1 ratings. Oh well, I'll take that as a compliment. Nothing to say, so a cowardly black ball dropped into the jar anonymously. : ) Scholar
